In my opinion the best British sports car is LISTER STORM 99'.It is the best because it has a great speed (200+ km/h) and Lister has a very good handling tradition. Of course, I haven't driven it but I read it in several magazines. One more thing is that STORM has won many races in it's class back in time (1999).

Bit late to start now dont you think? if you look at all the great race drivers they have been doing karting since they were kids and then they progress up from there. Get into karting if ur not already, its cheap and fun. If your good enough you will get noticed. At the end of the day you need to work out if its really what you want to do, or maybe if you should look for another career and simply buy a track car an race in sunday cup style events. Your taking a big gamble if you are this old and have never done motorsport before, especially as your family doesnt come from motorsport (well i assume they dont or you would have asked them this question long ago right?)

The miata! The best british sports cat that was never made there.

It has the typical british roadster long hood, light weight, small high revving engine, top down and yet does not inherit the british reliability!
